Scott Severns is an award-winning furniture maker, cabinet maker, and woodworker with decades of experience transforming raw materials into stunning, functional art. A true design-build expert, Scott possesses an innate understanding of wood, joinery, and finishing techniques, allowing him to bring even the most ambitious visions to life. His keen design sense, coupled with his approachable and easy-going nature, makes him a sought-after collaborator for clients seeking bespoke pieces that perfectly complement their spaces.
Scott's passion for woodworking extends beyond his personal practice. In 2015, he won the prestigious Veneer Tech Challenge, a testament to his mastery of the craft. He further honed his skills through studies with internationally renowned artisans, absorbing diverse techniques and perspectives that inform his unique approach. Driven by a desire to share his knowledge, Scott founded the NJ School of Woodwork in 2020. Since its inception, the school has flourished, expanding to include three additional instructors and welcoming over 600 students into the world of woodworking. Scott’s enthusiasm for the craft is infectious, and he excels at fostering a supportive and inspiring learning environment for all skill levels. A great listener and creative problem-solver, Scott is dedicated to helping others discover the joy and satisfaction of working with wood.
